Start the New Year by clearing out your unwanted consumer electronics! Sony Electronics Inc.; ERI – the nation’s leading recycler of electronics and cybersecurity-focused hardware destruction company; and T&N – Hawaii’s leading e-waste collection company – are joining forces to provide kamaaina residents with a convenient and free way to responsibly recycle unwanted consumer electronics at the free E-Waste Collection & Recycling event that will take place during Waikiki Elementary School’s ‘Going Green Day’ on Saturday, January 4th, 2025 from 9:00 - 11:00 am.
Waikiki Elementary School is located at 3710 Leahi Ave.
Accepted Items: Televisions (and peripherals); Computers (and peripherals); Mobile Devices
Waikiki Elementary is also accepting HI-5 beverage containers; Auto batteries; Canned goods; Gently used clothing; Used eyeglasses and hearing aids; Diapers and wipes for keiki and kupuna. For pets - towels, blankets and pet food.
Not Accepted: metal, tires, paint, microwave ovens, cooking oil, motor oil, ink cartridges, toners, hazardous fluids, cardboard, paper, plastics, wood, and bulky items.
*To encourage consumers to participate in this recycling event, Sony is giving away one-day free admission tickets for two to the Sony Open in Hawaii, valid any day from Jan. 8-12, to the first 100 participants donating acceptable electronic items (see above list). Participants who bring e-waste for recycling will also receive a coupon for $25 off their next Sony purchase of $100 or more. (Limit one coupon per car).
